Medicaid Application Assistor – Facilitated Enroller

Full Time, 40 Hours Per week, M-F 8:30AM-4:30PM

Location: Watertown, NY

Program: Medicaid Application Assistance Program (MAAP)

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in related field, or AAS degree in related field with three (3) years related work experience preferred. Professional experience may be considered in lieu of academic credentials.

Skills needed: Must be efficient and skilled in computers, email, word processing software, spreadsheets, data entry, multi-line telephones, voicemail, copy/fax/scan/print, filing and maintaining professional office organization, interpersonal communication, telephone communication, and written communication. Must be able to communicate effectively about sensitive information and issues. Must have excellent learning and organization skills to remember various eligibility programs, the ability to accurately complete paperwork, and the ability to follow-through on all tasks assigned.

Overview & duties: The MAAP program assists individuals who are aged over 65, blind, or disabled regardless of age to apply for various NYS Medicaid programs through the local Department of Social Services. The successful candidate will meet with consumers one-on-one at a convenient location to help the consumer complete all required paperwork, obtain appropriate documentation, and submit the application to the local DSS within 15 business days. The successful candidate will complete a minimum of 10 applications per month. Applications are submitted to a Quality Review Team before final submission to DSS. The successful candidate will attend weekly teleconferences with direct supervisors, and bi-weekly meetings with contract managers. Travel will be frequent, required, and reimbursed at the IRS mileage rate.

Other: Clients will be located in all of Jefferson and Lewis Counties. MILC is currently constructing a Watertown NY office. During the construction phase, the Facilitated Enroller may be required to work from home; all equipment and materials will be provided. During this phase, the work site will be inspected and a safe, quiet, and confidential location must be provided.
