SNAP Application Assistor – Malone, NY

Full Time M-F 9AM-5PM

Rate of Pay: $14.70/hr

Qualifications: Associates’ degree preferred. HS Diploma/GED required. Work experience in lieu of education will be considered. Ideal candidates will have experience in sales, customer service, outreach/communication, or human service related fields.

Overview: The SNAP Application Assistor helps individuals and families apply for food stamps. Applications are completed in-person or via phone. Home visits may be necessary, particularly when working with seniors or those without technology means to provide documentation. The Assistor collects all required documentation and submits the application to the Franklin Department of Social Services. This program is also VERY heavy in networking, outreach, attending tabling events, joining community activities, and any other activities necessary to encourage individuals to apply for SNAP benefits. It is expected that the Assistor will be contacting agencies and community groups to establish referral relationships. The assistor will also travel throughout the entire Franklin county area disseminating outreach materials at various locations including grocery stores, pharmacies, Doctor offices, and more.

Independent Living Advocate – Massena, NY

Full Time M-F 9AM-5PM

Rate of Pay: $15.00/hr

Qualifications: Associates’ degree preferred. HS Diploma/GED required. Work experience in lieu of education will be considered. Ideal candidates will have experience in case management type activities.

Overview: The Independent Living Advocate assists individuals to remain as independent as possible in their own homes. This is done through goal development, linking to other agencies, referrals, benefits advisement, independent living skills training, and more. This position will rely heavily on the Advocate to research and outreach to other agencies and programs to help the client succeed in their home. This position will require in-home visits with the consumer. This position requires excellent computer skills for research, data entry, and communication (ZOOM, Microsoft Teams, Office 365, Outlook).
